The media community in Macedonia concluded, at the debate held on April 22, 2013, at the Holiday Inn Hotel in Skopje, organized by the Media Development Centre, that the contents and the manner of preparation of the draft Law on Media proposed by the Government of Macedonia were utterly unacceptable.

The LGBT activists of the Lesbian Group Kontra and Iskorak Centre for Sexual and Gender Minorities' Rights distributed yesterday, April 22, 2013, educational leaflets on the problem of hate-crimes and ways in which the victims can protect themselves, to the citizens of Split.

The nongovernmental organisation Civil – Centre for Freedom yesterday, April 18, 2013, appealed again to the participants in the Local Elections 2013 to adhere to the Law and the principles of free and non-violent elections in the rerun voting to be held on Sunday, April 22, 2013.

The Kosova Women’s Network expressed last week, on March 21, 2013, its deep concern regarding the threats made against human rights activist Nazlie Bala, who received an anonymous threat letter which read “Please do not protect the shame. Otherwise, we’ll kill you.”

Once again, Mitrovicë/Mitrovica Municipality has urged TV Mitrovica to leave its present work premises in three days.

Director of TV Mitrovica Nexhmedin Spahiu and Kosovo Association of the Independent Broadcast Media (AMPEK) believe that this is a political decision.

During July last year the municipality ordered police to take TV Mitrovica out of its building, however this decision was strongly condemned by associations for defending journalists and media freedom.

A group of six women's NGOs from Serbia offered yesterday, February 12, 2013, to be voluntarily included on the so-called “Black list” of the “Naši” organization of the extreme right. The initiative was proposed by the “Sandglass” women's NGO from Kruševac.  

The six NGOs note, in the joint statement, that it was their “firm and conscious belief” that they “rightfully belong to any existing and future so-called 'black list' of defenders human rights”.
