The organizations gathered in the “Freedom – Front for Freedom of Expression” Coalition, protest the opaque procedure for adoption of the draft-Law on Civil Defamation Liability and demanded, in the press-conference held today at the NGO Infocentre in Skopje, for the whole process to restart and for the process of drafting and adoption of the Law to include as many stake-holders as possible.

Serbian Ministry of Interior (MOI) decided yesterday, October 3, 2012, to ban the Pride walk and all other public gatherings in Belgrade, announced for Saturday, October 6. The President of Serbian Government and Minister of Interior Ivica Dačić told the media that the decision was based on security assessments that showed a high risk of serious disturpbances of public order and security of the citizens.

The civic initiative “Aman” has entered the second month of its protests against the higher prices of electricity and distance heating services, and the termination of the daily cheap electricity tariff for the week days. The representatives of non-governmental organizations from Prijepolje and the area were brutally beaten up last Wednesday, August 15, 2012, at the presentation of the Environmental Impact Assessment Study for the project to build two high dams on the Lim River. Acting on orders given by Milan Čušić, Deputy Director of Belgrade-based REV Ltd. company, several cops-for-hire from REV attacked the activists who suffered injuries and grievous bodily harm.
