The platform, inspired by the candidacy of Sarajevo for the title European Cultural Capital 2014, was created as a strategic step towards unification of generally dispersed and uneven cultural and artistic scene of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“Inspired by the engagement of the citizens of Banja Luka, whom we joined in the protests and the fight to preserve the so called “Picin Park” (Pussy Park) and public spaces in general, we invite the citizens of Mostar to take part in the Alter Kultura Platform and explore new ways of communication, expression and cooperation”, say Pravo Ljudski Association from Sarajevo, UNSA GETO from Banja Luka, OKC Abrašević from Mostar, and the Centre for Research, Art and Civic Engagement „The City“ from Tuzla.
