SKGO Established Working Group and Expert Team on Gender Equality

The Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities of Serbia (SKGO, original acronym), honouring its obligations to uphold and implement the principle of gender equality which it accepted in its long-term strategic documents, established, in constitutional sessions held last month, on June 22 and 23, respectively, the Working Group on Gender Equality and the Expert Team on Gender Equality.

The Working Group on Gender Equality will carry the SKGO’s activities of the “Gender Equality on Local Level” programming components, part of the “Strengthening capacities of local self-governments in the process of European Integrations” programme, which is implemented in partnership with the Swedish Association of Local Administrations and Regions, with support from the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA).

The working group consists of seven representatives of municipal administrations, five experienced local experts in the areas of local self-government and gender equality, four representatives of the technical and administrative offices of SKGO and one representative of the national Office of Gender Equality.

As support for the Working Group, the SKGO also established the Expert Team, which is made of 14 experts in the field of gender equality, with huge experience in integration of principle of gender equality in areas like budgeting, energy efficiency, environmental protection, security, etc.
