VREVA Festival Moved to New Location
10. September 2012 - 11:21 — Dejan GeorgievskiThe LICEULICE activist platform changed the location of the street activism festival VREVA (noise, clatter), the biggest annual public event it organizes. The main programme of the Festival will be held that the Terazijska Terasa park, in front of Moskva Hotel, on September 21-22, 2012.
The LiceUlice platform says that the decision to change the venue was motivated by the idea of revival of underused public spaces.
“The Terazijska terasa Park shall be transformed, over a period of two days, in a place of positive change. It’s very name – Terraces of Terazije – symbolizes the very concept of the festival that aims to offer a different, more human and more beautiful view of Belgrade, the society and the world”, LiceUlice says.
The festival programme will be held in several other locations in Belgrade. For the duration of the Festival, artists from the whole region will draw murals in the Street Gallery near the Bezistan in Belgrade. The Republic Square and the area around the Terazije Fountain will host exhibitions of photographs of “invisible” persons unrecognized by law, created in cooperation with the Zelena Inicijativa and Housing Centre associations.
In cooperation with GRAD Cultural Centre and the All That Bass crew, VREVA will organize a drum’n’bass party that will officially conclude the festival. For more details about the programme, visit the website of the organizers, the LiceUlice magazine (in Serbian). (Source: LiceUlice)
