On the occasion of 30th Anniversary of the Convention on Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) owpsee commissioned seven articles from researchers, activists and women rights organisations from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia, as their contribution to the spreading of CEDAW.


Since the fall of communism, itself staunchly secular, if not outright atheist ideology, we have witnessed a religious revival in the countries of Southeast Europe, with organized religions adopting a more muscular approach in the effort for renewed influence on social and political life. This dossier is not envisioned as a definitive text and we are more than open – indeed we welcome any contribution you may have on the subject. The prolonged period of transition in Southeast Europe has had serious impact on the workforce and labour rights in the region, due to privatization and reorientation towards market-based economy. Read more in our Dossier on Protection of Labour Rights in SEE.
