The Youth Initiative for Human Rights (YIHR) demanded explanation from the Ministry of Interior of Croatia who, on whose orders and in accordance to what legislation launched criminal investigation of the activities of the Initiative.

Macedonian organisation HOPS - Healthy Options Project Skopje won the 2010 International Award for Action on HIV/AIDS and Human Rights presented by the Canadian HIV/AIDS Legal Network and the Human Rights Watch. The Award, highlighting outstanding contributions that decrease vulnerability to HIV/AIDS and protect the rights and dignity of those infected and affected was presented at the 18th International HIV/AIDS Conference in Vienna.

More than a hundred citizens and activists that participated in the blockade of the Varšavska Street in Zagreb, to prevent the start of construction works on the access ramp to the underground garage of the "Cvjetni" Centre developed by the HOTO Group, were arrested in the police action that started early this morning, parallel with the start of works in the pedestrian zone in down-town Zagreb.

The Youth Initiatives for Human Rights (YIHR) monitored the elections for national councils of national minorities, held on June 6, 2010, in the two southern municipalities of Preševo and Bujanovac and disagreed with the position of the Ministry of Human and Minority Rights that Elections were organized and completed successfully.

Several hundreds of Turkish, Palestinian and BiH nationals gathered on May 31 in down-town Sarajevo in a peaceful protest against the Izraeli raid on the six-ships in the convoy carrying humanitarian aid for the Gaza Strip. The protests gathered mostly university students, who were then joined by citizens of Sarajevo on their procession through Ferhadija and Maršal Tito streets on the way to the BiH Parliament.

The International Day Against Homophobia, is marked on May 17, focusing on that rather universal (as the Day's website puts it) multifaceted and historical phenomenon of homophobia.

The Organisation Committee of Belgrade Pride 2009 warns that, similar to last year’s developments, a hatred-campaign against LGBT community is gaining momentum, through activation of tested instruments for dissipation of false information, such as the interenet site http://www.facebook.com/l/6fe16;belgradepride.blog.rs which published, on May 10, the misinformation that the 2010 Pride will be held on September 19, in the organization of the phantom-organisation “LGBT Forum Serbia”.
