CURE Foundation Marks March 8 with a Protest March in Sarajevo

Panjeta/Sarajevo-x.com)The CURE Foundation organized, on the occasion of March 8, International Women’s Day, a protest march in Sarajevo, to raise the awareness about status of women’s rights in BiH. Foundation representatives noted that the aims was to raise the awareness of women that they are equal members of the society who want equal, not special rights.

CEDAW in Bosnia and Herzegovina

The 1981 Convention on Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination of Women (hereinafter CEDAW), as one of the most important international instruments for protection of women human rights was ratified by Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1993 and became an integral part of the BIH legal and constitutional system in 1995. CEDAW presents a catalogue of political, civil, economic, social and cultural rights of women that signatory countries are obligated to implement in all areas of life. 3,000 Students Turned Out to Demand Cheaper Student Passes

Over 3,000 students gathered yesterday, February 17, in front of the National Museum in Sarajevo, in the “No Student Without the Promised Pass”, organized by the Alternative Student Parliament of the University of Sarajevo, to demand from Cantonal Prime Minister Besim Mehmedić to keep his promise and ensure subsidized public transportation passes for all students.

House of Representatives of the FBIH Parliament adopts Draft-Law on Youth

The House of Representatives of the Parliament of Federation BiH, adopted on February 16 the Draft-Law on Youth in the Federation BIH, in spite of the negative opinion on the Draft presented by the Government, without listing any real reasons to justify that opinion.

Student Action before the Big Protest

Today, February 16, at 12:00 hours, the Alternative Student Parliament organizes the last action of the “No Student without the promised Traffic Pass” campaign on Čengić Vila tram stop, before the big protest scheduled for tomorrow, February 17, in front of the National Museum.
